Price: €10 for 4 sessions, booking will open shortly through Eventbrite

A series of four writing workshops inspired by the Mary Swanzy Voyages exhibition will be held in the gallery, led by Laura McKenna.

Swanzy's richly varied life and artistic career will serve as a starting point for creative exploration through writing.
Using a combination of guided exercises and in-gallery observation, participants will have an opportunity to bring their own interpretation to the artworks through poetry, prose or creative non-fiction.

These workshops will be suitable for beginners or more experienced writers who are seeking new sources of inspiration.

Laura McKenna has just completed a Creative Writing PhD at UCC. She is shortlisted for this year’s Hennessy Literary Awards for poetry. Her short fiction was published in The Litro Anthology, Southword and Banshee & won the Penguin/RTE Guide Short Story Competition. Laura is a past winner at the Irish Novel Fair & longlisted for the 2016 Lucy Cavendish Fiction Prize & Bath Novel Award.
