View of Cork
'View of Cork' by John Butts
Cooper penrose collection
The Cooper Penrose Collection

Recent donations to the Gallery include 'View of Cork' by John Butts (Whereas this painting was once attributed to Grogan, it is now thought to be almost certainly by John Butts), presented by the McCarthy family, The Penrose Collection, presented by John and Helena Mooney, and most recently, three important paintings presented by the artist Hughie O'Donoghue in 2010.

These valuable donations to the Crawford Gallery have been assisted by Section 1003 of the Finance Act, which has enabled Irish museums to acquire works for the benefit of our national heritage.
