Cooper Penrose Collection, 2008

This family portrait depicts a private moment of the Penrose family in a quite dark interior, apart from the soft light from the window. On the left Cooper Penrose is comfortably seated wearing a brown coat and holding a gun; nearby his wife Elizabeth is wearing a deep pink gown and looking at her husband with a sweet smile. On the left, their children are playing: William holding a dead woodcock and the little Ann in a white dress with green sash trying to take a closer look at the poor bird.
